We are committed to sustainability at Whom Home – here is how we do it.
Whom has been on the forefront of environmental practices that protect the planet's most valuable resources, and that's the philosophy baked into Whom Home's very foundation.
From our products to our practices, innovation is integral while sustainability is as essential as wood, metal fabric, and thread.
Our factory maintains a zero-waste policy. We reuse or recycle everything. We source over 95% of our materials within North America and our factory. This means we have control over exactly where our materials come from, and how we manufacture so we can easily hold everyone accountable.
We’re completely transparent with you. Nothing less than what you and the planet deserve.
Using high quality, non-toxic materials, allows our master craftspersons to construct your furniture in our factory in Sonora, Mexico. All our employees arrive to work on company shuttles. This eliminates the emissions of hundreds of vehicles. While our in-house recycling facility and zero-waste, flex power policies keep us sustainable.
Our factory maintains a zero-waste policy. We reuse or recycle everything. We take part in a Closed-loop recycling program. Each week through this process, 66,000 pounds of Polystyrene (Styrofoam) is collected and diverted out of U.S. landfills and reused in our mirrors, picture frames, and wall décor. We have recycled over 32 million pounds and more every day.
Only North American woods are used to make your furniture, exclusively from suppliers certified by the forest stewardship council (FSC). It takes over 40 years to harvest a tree. That is why our suppliers must plant 40 trees for every 1 harvested, to conserve the planet while respecting the rights of Indigenous peoples. We need to plant more than we consume.
We build your piece according to your specifications and our exacting quality control standards. We source over 95% of our raw materials from North American suppliers - materials that are toxin and flame retardant-free and our freight shipper gets it directly to you, using trailers that carry 25% more freight than the overseas containers. Reducing our carbon footprint.
Rather than participate in large-scale industrial pollution, we keep our production close to home in Mexico and Arizona. By removing the shipping from overseas, we have control over exactly where our materials come from, how they are made, and how we manufacture so we can easily hold everyone accountable.
